The church was designated a Grade A listed building (the ecclesiastical equivalent of a Grade I listing) in 1950.[1]
In preparation for the future extension of the East London Line to Dalston Junction and Highbury & Islington, the line north of Whitechapel to Shoreditch was closed on 9 June 2006. When Victoria Miro was young, her father had a Covent Garden grocery stall. She married a lawyer, and had a son and daughter in the 1970s, explaining, "my need to paint seemed to go away when I had children."[8] She looked after the children, until 1985, when she started her Cork Street gallery.[8]
The station building remained until the 1960s, when all but the structure immediately around the original lift shaft was demolished.[1] Today little remains to indicate the site of the former station. At track level the short station tunnels remain visible from trains passing through.
