The complex and the square is served by the Canary Wharf tube station on the Jubilee Line and the Canary Wharf DLR station on the Docklands Light Railway.
Having designed the Group's last head office at 1 Queen's Road, Central, Hong Kong, Sir Norman Foster (now Lord Foster of Thames Bank) was appointed as architect. Arup became structural engineers for the project, and Davis Langdon & Everest (now Davis Langdon) quantity surveyors.
Skidmore, Owings & Merrill (SOM) was the architect of the building, completed in 2003. It is 88 metres tall with a floorspace of 46,450 square metres. SOM?s design team for the building was led by architect Marshall Strabala, and the team won an American Institute of Architect?s Honor Award for its achievement.[1]
