Deptford

The Albany Theatre, a community arts centre with a tradition of "radical community arts and music" including holding 15 "Rock Against Racism" concerts,[66] has its roots in a charity established in 1894 to improve the social life of Deptford's deprived community.[67] The original building, the Albany Institute, was opened in 1899 on Creek Road, changing its name in the 1960s to the Albany Empire.
