The Danish Seamen's Mission in London is based at 322 Rope Street, Rotherhithe (51°29²40³N 0°2²1³W / 51.49444°N 0.03361°W / 51.49444; -0.03361). There is also a Danish Church in Hull (the St Nikolaj Danish Seamen's Church at 104 Osborne Street) (53°44²33³N 0°20²44³W / 53.7425°N 0.34556°W / 53.7425; -0.34556).
The Terrace was built by William Mountford Nurse, with James Thomson serving as resident architect, and was completed in 1826. It consists of three main blocks, linked together by decorative arches with typical neoclassical style and grandeur. The central block includes a large sculptural pediment above a long colonnade of Ionic columns.
There are two blue plaques on the street, one for Charles Robert Cockerell[3] and one for John Salmond. John Profumo lived in this street in 1963.[4] His mistress Christine Keeler later lived in Chester Close North, 100 yards (91 m) away.
