Langham Hotel, London

On March 19, 2010 a City of Westminster Green Plaque was unveiled by the writer and former M.P. Gyles Brandreth. The plaque commemorated the meeting at the Langham in August 1889 between Oscar Wilde, Arthur Conan Doyle and Joseph Marshall Stoddart. Stoddart commissioned the two other men to write stories for his magazine Lippincott's Monthly Magazine. Arthur Conan Doyle wrote The Sign of Four which was published in the magazine in February 1890. Oscar Wilde wrote The Picture of Dorian Gray which was published in July that same year[4].

St. George's Hall (London)

In 1905, magician John Nevil Maskelyne renovated, expanded and reopened the 'St George's Hall, England's New Home of Mystery,' on 24 January 1905 with The Coming Race by David Christie Murray and Maskelyne. Maskelyne's entertainments were called Maskelyne's Theatre of Mystery.[2] The theatre also hosted meetings of The Magic Circle, an association of amateur and professional magicians, and its members David Devant and Maskelyne continued to give magic shows for many years.[9] One was called Maskelyne and Devant's Mysteries, which was presented in August 1910.[2]

All Souls Church, Langham Place

All Souls Church is an Anglican Evangelical church in central London, situated in Marylebone at the north end of Regent Street on Langham Place, just south of BBC Broadcasting House. As well as the core church membership, many hundreds of visitors come to All Souls, bringing the average number of those coming through the doors for Services on Sundays to around 2,500 every week. All Souls has an international congregation, with all ages represented.
