Canada Water tube station

Canada Water station is a London Underground and London Overground station in Rotherhithe, in east London, UK. It takes its name from Canada Water, a lake which was created from a former dock in the London Docklands.

Canada Water is a freshwater lake and wildlife refuge in Rotherhithe in the Docklands in south-east London. Canada Water tube and bus station is named after the lake, and lies immediately to the north, while Surrey Quays Shopping Centre is also adjacent, sitting immediately to the south. The surrounding area is now increasingly known as Canada Water, after the Underground station.

It has two platforms (northbound and southbound) and is accessed by two escalators (one up, one down) and a flight of stairs to a landing, then stairs only to platform level. There is no lift. It is situated close to the southern end of the Thames Tunnel, built by the Brunels, and some of the original brickwork can be seen from the north end of the platforms.

Southwark Street is a major street in the London Borough of Southwark, SE1, just south of the River Thames.[1] It runs between Blackfriars Road to the west and Borough High Street to the east.
