If you are an adherent of beautiful, heavy and expensive carpets and rags you have to think about their packing. There is no way to put them inside the moving truck without any coverage or packing over.Carpets and rags should be among the first items to move. While packing them it is not necessary to separate them room by room.May be it is better to collect them together and pack them.Packing them is not so difficult but a technical procedure.Start with the bigest one.You will need a big free space for rolling them and pack with special free of acid paper or large plastic sheets. It depends on you to choose the packing material. You will asoe need a rope and adhesive tape to exalt the packing.Put the plastic or paper sheet at the floor.Make sure that it's perfectly placed on the floor and without any folded areas, especially at the edges.Lay over carefuly the carpet.Start to roll from the wider part of the carpet.Roll the carpet and the sheet together. When you finish get up the carpet to a vertical positon and wrap with the rope starting from the middle.Use the adhesive tape to stick the edges and the places where the rope cannot reach the paper or the plastic sheet.Do not fold the carpet because you will damage its shape and surface.Remember to roll the carpet's surface facing the sheet.Packing the rags is more easier. You can use them as padding material for some fragile and not so steady items.Have in mind that you should put them at the bottom or at the top but not betwen the items. Some of the rags has fringes at their ends and they migh damage the other items.
