South Acton railway station is in the London Borough of Ealing in South Acton, west London. It is on the North London Line, and the station and all trains serving it are operated by London Overground. It is in Travelcard Zone 3. Until 1959 it was also served by the District line of the London Underground.
The library was opened on November 16, 1991 with only 2,500 books in a rented premises. However after financial support by members of the Iranian community in London the owners were able to purchase new premises which was opened to public on April 9, 1994.
To the north of the station is the District line Ealing Common Depot. It is also here where the London Transport Museum houses its reserve collection of rail and road vehicles in the former Repair Shop known as The Depot. The Museum Depot is opened to the public on a number of weekends throughout the year. To the south west of the station, served by a siding just south of the west bound platform, is Acton Works, the former central overhaul and engineering works for the London Underground.

North Finchley is a suburb of London in the London Borough of Barnet, situated 7 miles (11.3 km) north-west of Charing Cross.
